More than 200 published and previously unpublished data sources were used to prepare the
statistical tables in this book, including reports and other materials from government
agencies, professional associations and women's and/or minority groups and caucuses.
The first five chapters of the publication present data on general enrollments, degrees,
professions, and the general and academic workforce. Chapters six through ten are devoted
to subject fields, providing data on degrees, enrollments, and the general, academic, and
federal workforce.
