Dr. Lisa Frehill Biography
Lisa Frehill is the Research Director of the Commission on Professionals in Science and Technology. She holds a Ph.D. in sociology with a minor in systems engineering and an M.A. in sociology both from the University of Arizona. Her bachelor’s degree is in industrial engineering from General Motors Institute (now Kettering University). Prior to coming to CPST in July 2006, she was an Associate Professor of Sociology at New Mexico State University, where she is now an adjunct faculty member. She was the original PI for the NMSU “first round” ADVANCE: Institutional Transformation award. Current projects at CPST focus on the science and engineering workforce, how gender and ethnicity impact access to careers in these fields, and on women’s international participation and collaboration in science and engineering. Frehill is the lead on several program evaluation projects related to human resources in science and engineering.
